I've been asked to come in for a second interview at a school where I'd really like to work. They want me to conduct a model lesson in third grade. It needs to last about 15-20 mins and be a reading lesson. It's up to me what I want to do or teach. Any brilliant ideas on how I can make myself shine in 20 minutes??
I would start out with a fun anticipatory set with the kids! Ask them questions to get them interested. Be excited when you talk to them and show that you can connect with kids and get them involved. That will make you stand out. The, of course, teaching the actual lesson with fidelity.
