Your room looks really, really nice. I like the hallway bulletin board and magnetic puzzle on the whiteboard the most. :)

Wow! Your room looks great! I love all of the "tools" around the room for the kids to use. 5th graders need those! I really like the comfy reading area :)!!

You room looks awesome! I really like your jobs bulletin board idea with the classified section as your background lol. That is a cool idea! I think I may do that for when I do group work.

I really gotta get my room together so I can take pictures. Because I'm a middle school teacher, in won't look as impressive and cute as yours though.

I love it! How do you do the book reviews with the library pockets? I was thinking of doing something like that.

pwhatley - the t-shirt was an ellison die-cut. I made the names from print shop and then pasted them onto the shirt and laminated them. They turned out great.

RitaFirstGrade - I let the students recommend the books to each other with this. On Fridays they can collect or deposit recommendations. If they decide to read the book they add it to their book list (what they take to the library when looking for a book). I don't use it for a grade but I guess I could. The kids usually get motivated to read if they see that their friends are reading and enjoying thier books.

The puzzle pieces are for whole class behavior. Any time I give praise to the whole class or another adult in the building gives them praise for something, (being quiet in the hall, lining up nicely, etc.) they get a puzzle piece. When they get their whole puzzle they get a fun activity such as extra recess, free time, extra computer lab time. :)

The title on the shirt bulletin board says "Look who's lining up for an AWESOME year!"

I don't remember. It seems like 25. It's a wooden puzzle I got at the Dollar Tree then glued magnets to the back of each piece.
