Ok...my interview is tomorrow at 10:20 central time. Please keep me in your thoughts.... So here is what I'm wondering. I usually bring in a mini portfolio that highlights me as a teacher--lesson plans, ect...You all know what goes into those...Should I make 1 or 2 since the AP and P will both be in attendance. I'm thinking 1 will be fine...I put a lot of work into making these and expense but if it gets me a job then I'll do 2
I share my portfolio (which includes photos as well as copies of certificates, prior PDAS ratings, sample lessons, etc.) during the interview. I place it in the middle of the table where we are all seated. It is clearly marked "Ms. Missy99's Portfolio." During the interview, I open it to certain pages when asked a question that has an answer in my portfolio, such as "How do you set up your centers?" I simply open the portfolio, say "Let me show you," and describe what they are seeing. The interviewers I have met with have always looked through it during the interview, passing it along to each other. It saves me a lot of $$$ to just have the one very nice one.
Oh I do have the nice big one but most of the time, the big one doesn't even come out or I might point to one or two things. I was told you should only pick one or two things to point to in your port. I leave my mini port so they'd have time to look at it later on... Thanks guys!!!
Thanks, Hoot! I looked at my horoscope for this week and it said a job offer was coming! So if my horoscope said it, it must be true!
