    Hi Everyone,
First time posting! Are there any study guides available to help pass the Mild Intervention Reading Instruction 064 test for Indiana? I have failed twice and just don't know how to study for this test. I have purchased the practice exam and did great but did not pass this last time. Help!

Hugs, Lynn2018. Have you taken reading-instruction methodology coursework?

Yes, I have taken a reading-instruction methodology course, but I find the questions on the test are more geared to a reading specialist and/or an English language arts teacher rather than special education. I am having troubling zeroing in on what to study. The test does not seem to be geared to teaching beginning reading/foundations at all. Thank you for your response. I just do not know how to approach this test. I feel as though I have the information/facts studied, but the questions want deeper answers and I am having trouble matching knowledge to questions/answers. Does that make sense?

How close to passing have you come? And do your score reports break down your performance in terms of domains tested?

For both failed tests my scores were exactly the same - 211 out of 220.
The score report offers percentages and number of questions only. This test consist of 40 questions. My scores are:

Domain I: Foundations of reading instruction - 70% with approximate number of question of 10
Domain II: Components of reading instruction - 68% with approximate number of questions of 22
8 questions are not assigned to either domain.

    Thank you for your help!

If the focus of your test is indeed more on reading instruction as such than on instruction of the students with whom you're concerned, you might do well to have a look through the threads on other states' general-education reading-instruction tests. You might also try searching the state department of education website for English/language arts content standards, which typically have a fair amount to say about reading instruction,

Reading Rockets might be a helpful resource: there's a fairly large website (www.readingrockets.org) with resources for parents but also for teachers, plus a YouTube channel.

If you can frame some questions about reading instruction that aren't actual specific test questions, feel free to ask them here.
