How do you feel about them? More work than they're worth? Good way of tracking student progress? TELL ME HOW YOU FEEL ;)

I did 50 in a minute math with my kids last year, and I loved it. My kids got so much faster with their math facts. They ended up getting the highest scores our school has ever had on our state testing. I think a lot of it is because they knew their math facts so well.

The way I did it was that we did 3 practice pages a day, took a packet over the weekend, and had a test once a week. I only graded the tests-and I only graded them if they finished all 50. Otherwise I just wrote 35 complete, or however many they finished. I also had a parent come in and help me on test day-so it wasn't that bad. I had the packets out where students could get them, so they were even responsible for having their own papers.

Even though we didn't care that much about speed per se, it made my son more focused when he was timed.
