My teenage babysitter has a Calculus project she needs a hand on: "Research and learn about an application of calculus, the history of calculus or an experiment which uses calculus and to present the info to the class. Research topic: calculus in biology" I told her I would help point her in a direction. Any ideas??

I had a poster up for April "Math Awareness Month" (who knew?) and the topic was about brain research. Sort of interesting. http://www.mathaware.org/mam/07/announcement.html

Calculus is sort of a blur to me right now. However, bacterial growth comes to mind. Or exponential growth in general. If that doesn't help reply back and I'll go get my calculus book.

Here's how the project turned out: Janet ended up getting surgery on her wrist. As a result of that and her A average, she was pulled from the group and exempted from the project. (I think she missed some vital planning sessions while in the hospital.) Anyway, thanks to all. I'm pretty sure her group took some of our suggestions, so the kids I don't know in Janet's calc class thank you as well
