Anyone in love with...or despise...a math series? I am on the committee for a new math program. We currently use Envisions and dislike it...each grade has a different reason. I have also used Expressions but that also was not a favorite. We found this website which is helpful: https://www.edreports.org/compare/results/ahJzfmVkcmVwb3J0cy0yMDY2MThyFQsSBlJ1YnJpYxjN6pCE0cOmgYEBDA However, you guys are the true experts.
My school is currently piloting 3 series with a couple of grades using the updated version of our old series. We currently have Math Expressions, Bridges, and CPM (grade 6) being piloted and our old series was Saxon. As a Title Intervention teacher, I am not liking Math Expressions. It seems that the teachers that are using Bridges are really liking it (and it is the feeder series for CPM which was adopted by our high school this year). Personally, I do not like programs that spiral and prefer a series that is strictly unit based. We won't know for at least a few more months which program will be adopted next year.
I always follow these threads with interest. I have never had to use a specific program, but am able to use bits and pieces from a variety of resources. I always take a look at samples of programs I see discussed to see if they can add to what I'm doing.
