    Hi there,

I have just been given a budget for my class to go and buy some math manipulatives and any other classroom tools that i would need in my class.

Can anyone suggest some "must haves" in regards to manipulatives?

Google: multiplication number "wraps", and number tiles (sold by Wright Group). I plan to make my own number tiles.

I also make my own lessons to teach games like chess and sodoku.

I received lots of good ideas here under my thread "math insanity".

When I was doing second, the things we used the most were decks of playing cards (for math games) and Unifix cubes. Don't know how much you'd use the cubes in 3rd but I bet the cards would come in handy.
