Math help

    We have 8 weeks of school left and next Wednesday our 1st graders will begin unit 10 in Everyday Math, HELP! What to do?

    You moved through the program fast.

    I would look at what your students have struggled with and reteach those concepts. Maybe look at using math centers and small group lessons. You could also pose more complex problems and have the students solve them and talk about how they solved the problems.

    I am going to complete our program, Math Expressions, with about 5 weeks left of school. As Mopar said, take that as an opportunity to brushen up on skills they are still struggling with. Many of my students need to work on subtraction fact fluency, so I plan on starting math each day with some time tests and practice games. Fractions and money are another area where my kids could use practice, so I plan on putting together some centers for them to work on.
