At one of my schools, they had a masseuse come 1 day & at a scheduled time, teachers could come to get a massage. I've never heard of that before. I guess the admin wanted to do something nice. (I didn't do it.)

One year for Teacher Appreciation week, the parent organization did that for us. The P came to cover our classes for 15 min., and they did a shoulder and hand massage. It was wonderful!

Oh, and it was a surprise--they just told us to go to the music room at our scheduled time. I was expecting snacks or something...

My P did that for us last year at Christmastime. We each got like a 10 minute massage. It was really nice :)

My old P did that for Christmas. It was a chair massage, and the masseuse was in the faculity room. Shoulder and hand massage...it was wonderful.

At this time of the year I'd love to have a massage. What a nice gesture from your school Ms. I.

We had 15 minute massages during our planning time one year during teacher appreciation week. One of the parents was a masseuse.

I would never be comfortable getting a massage (professionally), but it was a kind gift. :) My school has done something similar.

So not in my comfort zone, but what a thoughtful idea!

The school I'm at now did that the year I student taught there - I can't remember what the occasion was for, but it was from the P.T.O and it was after school.

I don't think I'd feel comfortable getting a massage at school, but a nice thought!

My P does this for us every year during Teacher Appreciation week. We receive a 15 minute chair and hand massage. You are fully clothed, and the conference room is all darkened with candles glowing and soft music playing. It is truly a relaxing treat!

We have had that during teacher appreciation week as well. Though it seems each day it happens I am really busy at the available time and have not gotten a chance to do it. Sad.

The principal we had before our current one set up massages through a local massage therapy school. I think she did this several years in a row. I remember being about 7 or 8 months pregnant one year and all the masseuses were afraid to touch me.

But the year before, it was a really nice 10-15 minute chair massage that most of the staff took advantage of. I could definitely go for one this year, but it's not happening.

The school I was at had this one day last year.. you had to sign up for it (during your lunch time...and for aides that was 30 minutes - who has the time?)

The slots were for - I think 15 minutes...but only over the course of the lunch breaks. So, YOU do the math. In a school of about 50 or 60 teachers? About 12 got massages.

Like Alice mentioned: YES, SO out of my comfort zone. It wasn't hard for me to say, no thanks you.
