    March Madness/NCAA Tournament!

Its almost time for March Madness! :woot:

I've had a countdown on my phone since February 1st! I am also the 2 year reining champ of my bracket tournament group, so I am defending my title! :D Also, the Ohio State Buckeyes are posed for the number 1 seed in the East! Go Bucks! :haha:

Anyway, Selection Sunday is this weekend and the tournament starts Tuesday! Anyone else super excited?

I can't wait for the NCAA Tournament...right now I've been enjoying the Big East Tournament, although I couldn't believe the officiating at the end of the St. Johns-Rutgers game today.

    Go Syracuse!

Basically the officials missed two or three fouls on St. Johns players in the last minute of the game, but the worst mistake was a St. Johns player running out of bounds and throwing the basketball into the seats with about 1.7 seconds on the clock (which would have been enough time for Rutgers to get a last shot in) and the officials didn't notice it.

I don't hold out my hope for the UConn men this year, but my girls should be in the hunt! In the last several games one of the freshmen, Stefanie Dolson, has really stepped up. It's excited to see an excellent player grow and emerge--good things for the program in the future. Love my Huskies!

About mid-season THE University of Texas was ranked near the top.... then went into a nose dive. At one time they were a top seed team... but have fallen quite a bit to a 2nd (3rd?) seed.

I think KU_Alum will be one happy lady this year as I believe the Jayhawks will take it all.

Lol my husband likes Duke and my dad is a huge Tarheels fan. Its very interesting.

They are very good but if Ohio State stays hot like they have been we have an excellent shot. Those boys are on fire!

It is going to be a crazy tournament this year. Several teams could win it all.

Major--I think they'll still be a #1 seed...unless Notre Dame wins the Big East tournament and either Duke or UNC wins the ACC (which would be surprising if neither of them won), then who gets the #1 seeds on Sunday could be interesting!

So excited that Syracuse won today...hopefully they'll be able to win the Big East Tournament and get a #2 seed!

I'm an ACC man. I'm happy with either Duke or UNC taking it all and I've always dreamed of them playing each other in the championship game. I don't think the last part will happen, but both teams certainly have a legitimate shot at bringing home the trophy this year!

I'm with Cerek! Despite being a born and bred North Carolinian, I just can't pick sides. Either one could win and I would be just fine with it.

Granted, I'm cheering for another ACC team from outside of NC that doesn't have much of a chance of getting in, but that's okay! I'm holding out hope!

Just to complicate things a bit more, I actually attended N.C. State the year after they won the championship in 1983. ;)

I've always been a fan of both schools and I'm a fan of the conference as well. My first two choices are UNC or Duke, but then ANY ACC team if those two get eliminated.

Penn State scores 36 points and beats Wisconsin... I didn't believe it until I looked at the field goal shooting percentage.... 33% for Penn St; 29% for WI...:dizzy:

This should be a fun weekend! UNLV plays Illinois (when was UNLV last in the Big Dance?) and Notre Dame in the brackets opposite Duke, so another great potentially great match-up there! I'm not so thrilled about some of the others (how on earth did VCU make it?) Go Duke! Go Gonzaga! Go ND!

I really don't understand why Syracuse has a potential second round (while I guess now what's considered the third round with the "First Four") with Marquette, another Big East team, and it's the same for Connecticut and Cincinnati. I understand that with eleven teams you can't keep them away from each other until the Elite Eight like they used to, but they definitely could keep conference members apart until the Sweet Sixteen.

I'm really excited about the fact that all the games will be on CBS or cable so that I can pick the game I want to watch and don't have to worry about them constantly cutting to other games!

    Go 'cuse!

    Full schedule today and tomorrow.......

Major upset....... in my opinion anyway...... 13th seed Morehead St beats 4th seed Louisville....

And early in the 2nd half 13th seed Princeton leads 4th seed KY by 3. KY will probably pull this one out.
