Per Amanda...... "Marathon Threads: threads, regardless of content, that expand to more than 5 pages."

Just curious....... but why are "marathon threads" not automatically moved to the "debate and marathon" section?

Do we have a new definition of "marathon" threads? Thanks...

Don't know, but I'm thinking maybe it goes to the marathon section if there's no postings after a certain amt of days, otherwise, it stays in the original section & that makes sense.

Maybe one of the moderators has to manually move the thread and they don't get around to it.. Maybe they are not automatically moved. Who knows!

I'm sure the moderators know. Maybe one of them will chime in.

I personally kinda like them in their original thread IF THEY'RE STILL POPULAR & PEOPLE ARE POSTING. They get more exposure!

We don't have to do anything with them. I thought they were automatically moved.

    :soapbox:
Many threads peter out after a few days
but some go on and on and on and on and on and on
the pollical threads got long and hot at times.
So making them close after a while was at times a good idea
At times feelings were hurt and it became a "got you back" thread
good points got lost in the anger and professionalism was in question.

And the bottom line is Amanda owns the site and she can do what ever she wants to
if she wants us to be nice we need to "play nice."

The site has to be run as a "benevolent dictatorship"

As far as I've ever been able to tell, the threads just sort of move - it's caught me by surprise more than once.

Major, is there a particular thread you are looking at?
