So, I have very little money. I just switched to K and while I have some things, I am going to be making a lot of my centers, displays etc.

Any ideas on things I can make? I have a lot of poster board and construction paper, markers and just need some ideas!

Board games come to mind. What about something like file folder games but using the construction paper. Do you have access to a laminator?

I've been making everything for my classroom this year and posting pictures and details on how it's done. You can see it all here: MY CLASSROOM PICTURES

This week I'm also going to be adding:
    curtains
    pencil holders
    nametags
    open-shelving covers
    and more

I'm trying to make everything myself this year.

Check out a copy of Work Jobs. They have tons of hand made activities in them. While targeted for K, I adapted for PS.

You should check out Kindergarten blogs for center ideas. The great thing about little kids is they love to do the same activities over and over again. To keep it interesting, all you have to do is periodically change the clip art to make it seasonal! If you browse through the blogs, you will notice slightly different variations of the same thing. Also, make sure to save some ideas for the next month, that way you have something "fresh" in the room. As much as kids love to play the same games, something new is super exciting to them!

Here are two of my favorites with ideas for the tiny ones. :)

I like to have my kids make things for me. It makes it more personal and they love to see their stuff on the walls! (plus it sure saves me a ton of time!)

Making Learning Fun has tons of great things to be copied and used in centers-just print and laminate. Also check out Shari Sloane-kidscount1234.com, hubbardscupboard.org, mrskilburnskiddos, carls corner. If you sign up at Childcareland, you will receive (free) daily ideas to print.
