I need your ideas on making back to school special for returning and new teachers. Please share. What would you appreciate?

Time to set up my classroom (we get it).

    Coffee.

Verbal appreciation (we get that too).

Our PTA does breakfast for us during one of our workshop days and gives us a bag of school supplies. I always feel appreciated.

We start with mass. But after that, there's a good half hour unscheduled. We can go to where our schedules are set up and take a look, then hang out with friends for a while and compare.

And during that first orientation day, we don't go more than 90 minutes without a break-- coffee break (fruit salad, bagels and rolls, cakes) or lunch (salads, sandwiches, ice cream)
