The skin care and Clinique threads has got me wondering. How much make-up do you wear, how long does it take to 'do your face'?

    I apply:
    Moisturizer with sunscreen
Foundation or powder (in summer I tend not to wear foundation)
    Blush
    Eyeshadow
    Eyeliner pencil
    Mascara
    Lipstick

I go for a more natural look overall, with semi- dramatic eyes. I don't like heavy make up looks.

    Takes about 4 minutes.

I just moisturize, that's it. If I have something very special (nice dinner out, wedding) I wear eye liner, mascara and possibly eye shadow. My lips are naturally quite red so I just use Chapstick or other lip balm to keep them from drying out and getting chapped.

So, doing my face takes I guess 30 seconds or so since it's just the moisturizer.

I wear tinted moisturizer, concealer, light powder, blush, eyeliner, neutral eyeshadow, mascara, and lipgloss. It takes me under 5 minutes.

Apparently I don't wear that much, because the other day my husband seemed surprised and said he didn't know that I "put stuff on my eyelids." We've only been married 6.5 years and I wear it every day to work...

    Every day I wear:

-some type of mousse concealer under my eyes
    - eyeliner- brown or purple, top lid only
[or] eye shadow- purple, pink, or brown are my usuals
    -mascara
-colorless chapstick or pink lipstick if I'm feeling fancy

    Takes maybe 5 minutes?

    For fancy I wear:
    -foundation and powder
-black gel eyeliner or a really fun/dramatic eye shadow
    -mascara
    -blush
-depending on how intense my eye makeup is, I'll wear a really fun color lipstick. Lipstick is my favorite makeup and I own a bunch of really fun colors. Some of my favorites are fuchsia pink, Heat Wave (a coral), Rebel (a purple), and bright red. :D Love lipstick!

    That takes about 15 minutes.

    BB cream or tinted moisturizer
    Powder (only for work)
    Blush
    Eye-liner--either pencil or powder
    Eye shadow
    Mascara
    Lipgloss or lip balm

I haven't timed it, but probably 3-4 minutes.

Hmm...I'm kind of a makeup freak. I enjoy doing my makeup. This is my "normal face":

    Moisturizer
    Undereye concealer
    Foundation (liquid)
    Setting powder
    Contour on cheekbones and temples
    Blush
    Cheek bone highlight
    Eye primer
    Eyeshadow (usually 2-3 colors)
    Eyeliner
    Mascara
Eye brow bone/inner eye corner highlight
    Lip balm
    Lip stick/gloss

I stopped wearing it last December. I just wash my face with soap for oily skin.

    Moisturizer
Concealer-- only if I currently have blemishes
Foundation-- I'm loyal to Mary Kay for this
    Powder
    Bronzer
Eye shadow-- shimmery pink, white, silver, or brown are typical
Eyeliner- added only if I want to be more dressed up
    Eyelash curler
    Mascara
Clear lip gloss or just Chap Stick

If I'm in a rush, I skip the foundation and mascara.

I've never timed the routine, but it's definitely less than 10 minutes. Maybe around 5.

First of all, I am a make up maniac! I love it... I have a lot of it and sell Mary Kay too.

For an average work day I will wear:
Mary Kay Hydrate for normal skin
    UD pore gel
Mary Kay matte foundation in 4 and 7 mixed
    Mary Kay translucent powder
    Nars bronzer in Laguna
Nars blush in Oasis or Sin
    UD 24/7 eyeliner in Uzi
    Mary Kay mascara in black
    UD eyeshadow in YDK
Then make up setting spray and....
Stila lip balm in peachy pink or dusty rose.

It sounds like a lot but it really isn't... It only takes me about 8 minutes to do my make up in the morning. :)

    Moisturizer
    foundation
    powder (sometimes)
    blush
    eye shadow
    liner
    mascara
    chap stick (sometimes)

I use the chap stick when my lips are dry. Lipstick dries my lips out, makes them hurt, otherwise I would. :(

I used to not wear much but I have very uneven skin tone and it's amazing what quality make up can do! Most of my stuff is sephora or bare minerals.

    Usually I wear:
    -two mouisturizers
    -primer
    -liquid foundation
    -two shades of eye shadow
    -eyeliner
    -mascara
    -concealer
-chapstick and lip gloss on top (way too dry around here for lipstick- I dont' know anyone who wears it!)

My skin is already red toned so I don't wear blush.

    Toner water
    Moisturizer
    Eye cream
    Color-correcting primer
    Mineral fiundation
    Blush
    Bronzer
    Eyeshadow
    Eyeliner
    Mascara
    Lip gloss

It takes 5-10 minutes, mostly because I'm clumsy.

I'm a fan of makeup. I have really dry skin, so I moisturize quite a bit. I wear makeup every day unless I'm staying home. I've never timed myself, but I'm probably less than 10 minutes. I take my time.
    • TimeWise moisturizer
    • TimeWise tinted moisturizer
    • Bare Minerals or TimeWise Luminous-Wear liquid foundation (depends on the look I want)
    • Bare Minerals warmth
    • Cover Girl blush
    • Bare Minerals mineral veil
    • Mary Kay, Cover Girl, or Maybelline eye shadows (usually do a smokey eye)
    • Cover Girl eyeliner
    • Mary Kay Ultimate mascara
    • Chapstick
    • lipstick

I'm also a maniac and have lots of makeup! I love it and consider it a hobby. My makeup can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 20 depending on what I'm doing/going for. My normal morning routine takes around 10 minutes, less if I'm running late, more if I decide to take my time and do extras like eye shadow. I wear makeup most days, unless I'm just bumming around the house or running errands or something. I also always wear some SPF on my face, and I'll wear a high SPF facial sunscreen if I know I'll be outside a lot.

    Typical day:
    moisturizer with spf
    eye cream
    foundation
maybe liquid eyeliner if I have time
    concealer
    setting powder
    blush
    brow powder
setting spray - but it's really a moisturizing spray
    mascara

Other extras I might decide on are eyeshadow, highlighter, bronzer, various types of lip color, and more fun things that I like to wear but I don't usually spend the time on if I'm up early in the morning.

Ok, I have to ask, what is setting spray and what brand do you all use? I thought I wore a lot of makeup but have never heard of this.

It's usually just a liquid spray, infused with good-for-you things like vitamin E, that moisturizes and keeps your makeup in place. I like Mario Badescu Facial Spray, Urban Decay All Nighter Spray, and Mac Fix+.

I normally wear none. I am a no fuss kind of gal. I rarely style my hair more than wash and go, as well. I never got the hang of making it look natural, instead of forced. Inside, I'm more than slightly envious of all the put-together gals I see out and about, I just can't give myself the extra time in the morning to do it.

When I do wear make-up, it is:
    liquid to powder foundation
    blush
    eye shadow
mascara (sometimes I will only do this)
    lipstick

I only wear make up to school and if I'm going "out" somewhere that I have to dress up.

    I wear:
    primer
    foundation
    blush
    mascara
    lip balm (sometimes lipstick)

Maybe it's just because I am a makeup addict, but I'd like to know what products you all LOVE. I'm always looking for more items I can add to my collection!

I just got this in the mail and it's perfect for a neutral look. The blush and the champagne colored eyeshadow are my favorites.

    Here.

Mary Kay True Diminensions lipstick feels so good it's a little addicting. It's one of the things I'd pay retail for if I stopped selling MK. I used to love Burt's Bees colored lip gloss before I tried the MK lipstick.

BumbleB, I'm a makeup junkie too...also kind of a hair product one too! I could spend a good long time in Sephora! Ulta has a good range of hair products. I love seeing what's new out there.

    OK, here's my faves:

VERY recently, I'm impressed by Kat Von D products (Lock-It Tattoo foundation...don't let the name fool you, it's not that heavy duty/harsh to me). I also want to try a few of her other products: Powder foundation, makeup setting spray, & elixer to put under makeup.

Makeup Forever - Quite like the Mat Velvet foundation & the Lab Shine Metal Collection lip glosses.

Nars - Great quality products. I have their blush in Taos want to get the powder foundation in Stromboli.

MAC - Like their eye shadows (have about 10 colors), blush, & lipsticks/lip glosses.

Estee Lauder - Used their Double Matte & Double Wear liquid foundations for years.

Mascara - L'Oreal, if don't want to spend a lot, but I'll get dept store brands a lot too. I love the thick-looking brushes to make lashes have volume, length, & all that good stuff!

NYX Cosmetics - If I want to try something that I don't plan to waer daily, I'll get this brand sometimes. I have a few Studio Liquid Liners in Extreme Blue, Extreme Purple, & Extreme Pplum Purple.

Lancome - I hav a few lip glosses in the metallic plummy colors.

If money was no object, I'd try makeup by Tom Ford where the foundations are $70, etc., just to see if it's that much better.

I use it to remove the "made up" or powdery kind of look and make things more natural looking by adding moisture. I used Fix+ from MAC and I loved it, but it was getting pricy. Now I have a homemade version that's just a mix of a tiny bit of glycerin and a lot of purified water in a travel sized spray bottle. People add scented waters like rose water or lavender water as well, but I prefer it without. It works as well as Fix+, IMO. Wouldn't recommend it for very oily skin, but there are different setting sprays for that too, I believe. One trick is to spray before you put on mascara! I can't do it afterwards without getting a smudge under my eyes.

The last time I wore makeup was 7/26/08. The only reason I know that is because it was the day I got married. (Celebrating 5 years tomorrow! :D) The only thing I do to my face is wash in the shower and use apple cider vinegar when I break out.

Wow-I don't know half the stuff on these lists! :) No make-up here other than some mascara and all-day lipgloss if I remember. I'd love to have more of a knack for it, and I'll probably make another attempt this school year to use it. I just mostly forget. My mornings are not a relaxed time, much as I try.

At home, nothing. Well, moisturizer but that's not really makeup...it's skincare.

For public, I always wear mineral powder, blush, mascara, and gloss. Sometimes I wear a tiny bit of eyeliner, basic eye shadow, and some other odds and ends. I like playing around with new makeup, yet I seem to look the same all time when I actually walk out of the house.

    My *MUST-HAVE* is mascara.

Hahaha....nothing. I wash and moisturize my face. I don't have anything against it, I just don't really know how to use all this stuff. I keep wanting to go into Ulta and see if they'll show me a simple routine, but I'm afraid they'll think I'm a total idiot.

    I always wear:

    concealer
powder (loose powder applied with a brush)
    eye shadow
    lip gloss

When I feel like doing a little extra, I add:
    eye liner (prefer liquid)
    mascara

And when not at school, I tend to go a little more girly-like and do:

    sparkle eye shadow stuff
    colorful mascara (pink, green)
    colorful eye line (pink, green)

I like to read the reviews at paulachoice.com

Through that website I found a few favorite products: L'Oreal Infallible 24 Hour Eyeshadow and Paula's Choice SPF moisturizer. I also found a Paula's Choice face wash that both my fiance and I both like.

I apply the "basics" for work and take about 10 minutes.

I use absolutely no makeup. I'm allergic and everything I have ever tried gives me hives. I can wash my hair in the shower and let the shampoo wash my face as long as I wash it off immediately.

Can't even wear sunscreen so I always wear a hat when spending time outside.

This made me laugh. I've pretty much had the same hair style or lack thereof since I've had hair. Well, except for a couple screw ups and then I did have bangs as a child. But it's always been long, straight, and non-colored. And as I said, I like makeup yet always look the same. I take comfort in consistency. :haha:

I don't change my appearance much, either. I think I have had my hair cut 4 or 5 times in my life. The last time was about 8 years ago. I live dangerously by changing my eyeglass frames every year or two!

Just bought this at Ulta yesterday. So far, I love it! Gives me a little extra glow under the eyes. However, I wonder how long it will last...looks like very little product!

I also bought my favorite Redken heat protector, an Urban Decay eye pencil, and a blush brush. I hate when blush is packed on too heavy, and that's what my former Sephora brush was doing. This Real Techniques brush is fluffier and makes it look more natural.

My skin is really sensitive, and I'm allergic to everything, so when I find something that doesn't irritate my skin, I stick with it until they discontinue the product. I play around with my makeup some for special occasions, but rarely for day to day stuff. I'm pretty content with the way things are, really.
