I saw a cute little lucky charms-I'm lucky to have you in my class this year- or something like that gift for the first day of school. Anyone know what teacher blog this is on? There was a cute printable to go with it.
http://whattheteacherwants.blogspot.com/2011/08/1st-day-of-school-treat.html I had it on my Pinterest
Yes it is sooo cute. I'm going to do it for open house. Cute treat for student who maybe scared to meet their teacher.
yep - do it each year. In fact, I just got done getting mine ready yesterday. The only thing is I hate when they change the marshmallows - different ones so the poem has to be changed a bit. But I love doing it and the kids love getting them.
I had to adjust it because the box I bought didn't have the pink heart or the purple horseshoe - so this is the one I'm using this year. I print the poem on cardstock and attach to baggie of cereal with a curling ribbon. HAVE SOMEONE READ THIS LIST TO YOU AS YOU HUNT FOR THE SPECIAL MARSHMALLOWS INSIDE…. You should find: A blue swirl moon--to remind you that you will shine in kindergarten! A colorful rainbow--to remind you of all the great, fun learning we will do this year A green clover--to give you good luck as you begin kindergarten. An orange shooting star--to remind you to always “shoot” for your best A yellow hourglass – to remind you of all the special times we will share this year A red swirl balloon--to remind you to soar above the clouds and try new things because the sky’s the limit! I give these to the kids on Meet the Teacher night (I make extra in case a little brother or sister really wants one). I also have a little baggie for parents with a tissue, cotton ball, hershey hugs, and a tea bag with a poem for parents as well. I love doing little things like that!
