    Sharing My New Game!

I've realized recently that I love the creative aspect of teaching. I love to create powerpoint lessons, mimio lessons and games. I've just created a game for main idea and details. It's a follow-up activity to my introduction lesson.

I was so proud of how it turned out that I just wanted to share. I know that my fellow teachers would understand my excitement.

    Anyhoo, here are some pics.

Here's the envelope for the game.

Here are some blank main idea cards that the students start with. The goal is to be the first player to fill up his/her card with matching detail cards.

    Here's a completed card.

Here are some more cards. These are actually flipped over during the game.

Omg, I had no idea the title sounded like that. I guess I should've added an I in the title.

I can't sell these because the artwork isn't mine. I google-imaged vector backgrounds and scenes for the large cards and then searched for the clipart.

I'm going to introduce them to my kids today. I can't wait to see how they respond. I'll also have to resign myself to the fact that the cards will get a little rumpled but oh well... the important thing is that the kids enjoy it while learning something too.

You might like to check out a book called "Work Jobs." It has a lot of games similar to the one you made.
