Came home today to find a bunch of stuff in the mailbox...
    1. Won the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence
    2. Admitted to the transfer class for Long Island University @ CW Post
    3. ... with a $14,000 scholarship!
    4. ... and admission to the honors program!
    5. Admitted to the transfer class for SUNY Fredonia
    6. ... with a $2,500 scholarship!
    7. ... and admission to the honors program!
    8. Study abroad application (to study for 3 weeks in Berlin & Krakow) was approved!
    9. ... with a $1,000 scholarship!

Opened all the envelopes within 5 minutes. My head was spinning! :dizzy:

So so so happy though. I was beginning to think my hard work at community college wasn't going to pay off as much as I'd hoped.

How wonderful!! Do you have an idea of which university to you're going to pick?
And the study abroad is great. I really wish I did that that in college, so it's great that you have the chance.

What wonderful news! Can you do the study abroad regardless of which university you choose?

    Thanks everyone :)

As for which university I'm going to choose... I'm not sure. I've been admitted to CW Post and SUNY Fredonia, and I'm still waiting to hear from NYU, Stony Brook, and Columbia. CW Post isn't worth the high price tag (plus if I'm staying on Long Island, I'd go to Stony Brook which is so much cheaper & has a better reputation). Columbia doesn't have undergrad education programs, so I was really just applying there for kicks and giggles to see if I could get into an Ivy League school. I'd really like to go to SUNY Fredonia, as I have a few friends up there already, and their undergrad math education program is one of the best in NYS and the East Coast. I'm just very rooted to Long Island and the thought of being 10 hours away scares me. I've been trying to trick myself... Fredonia is a 1.5 hr flight from JFK, but NYU is a 2.5 hr train ride on the LIRR... so "techincally" Fredonia is "closer". Haha.

And yes, I can do the study abroad no matter which school I choose, as the study abroad is through my community college. I'm not sure I'm going to accept it yet, as I really really really should take Calc 3 over the summer to get myself back on track for when I transfer. I'm very behind because Calc 2 was canceled on me twice. I should be in Differential Equations this semester, and I should have taken Calc 3 last semester. But alas, that didn't happen.

    Columbia is my alma mater!

Congrats! You've done pretty darn well. I'm sure the acceptances will just keep rolling in.
