I lost my father in law today. He was an amazing man. I know people say that a lot, but he was. 32 years ago, he had 2500 pounds of formica countertop dropped on him in a loading dock-pinning him to the dock itself, crushing his pelvic area. They said he wouldn't live, he did. They said he would never walk again-he did. He said his children would see him walk-even if he was in constant pain-and he was. He has been through open heart surgery one week before his baby daughter's wedding, and he walked her down the isle. He had skin cancer four years ago, and said it would not take him.He was a cancer survivor. The pain and suffering he endured has shown me that I can make it through anything this life throws at me. I miss him so very much already. My husband and I are turning to each other for comfort. I am clinging to the wonderful memories I have of him, and my faith in God assures me that he is walking with the Lord right now. Thank you for letting me share. My AtoZ forum friends will have my family in their prayers, and that gives me great comfort!
