I am at the end of my rope over pencils. That's right. PENCILS. It's only November and I've dipped into my own pencil stash heavily. I will sharpen 10-15 pencils to put in the "take a pencil, leave a pencil" jar on Monday, and by Monday afternoon there are two little stubs left in the jar. Then, by Tuesday, I have students coming to me telling me they don't have a pencil!! Are they eating them?! This is my first year in a classroom, and I am completely blown away by how little tedious things like this get in the way of our day! Any ideas or suggestions you have to help combat this problem would be appreciated!! Help!
