I teach a k-1 multiage class. I am looking for thematic unit ideas. This year I taught community, pumpkins/bats, elections, pioneers, holiday around the world, space, rain forest, science fair, transportation. Since I will have half of my class returning, I need new ideas. I get Scholastic News and Let's Find Out magazines. Should I just following the themes from those magazines? The themes tend to go for about a month. We integrate all subjects into our units, using the standards to guide my objectives and lessons. I have flexibility and do not have to follow a basal, so I will be integrating the reading into the themes as well. Would love some help! Thank you! :help:
