Need some help for a project for a graduate class explaining the various roles that teachers take on. I'd like to present it as an ABC book: Such as -- A is for Artist; B is for Bookkeeper; C is for Coach; and so on. Some letter are much more difficult to think of jobs than others. I know how very creative A to Z teachers always are and would love to see what you can come up with. Thanks. Letters I most desperately need help with are: K, V and Z.
Keeping an eye on the entire class while writing on the board. Varying strategies for different types of learners. Zipping around trying to make copies, taking lunch count, grading papers, recording papers, etc.
K could be for keeper (goalkeeper, zookeeper...) V could be for Verifier (checking accuracy) or Vignette person (teller of little vivid stories) Z could be Zen master, calming the class when needed
Keystone (supports. hold together the parts); Kitchen Police (in the cafeteria); Kriss Kringle (gift-giving at Christmas Time); Vault (have to take care of different monies); Vehicle for learning; Vendor (sell lunch tickets, pencils, etc); Ventriloquist (make your voice travel); Vetoer (stop proposed actions); Video Player (show movies); Villain (when kids make bad choices); Vindicator (when kids make good choices); Vocabulary Checker; Vocational Guide; Volunteer (tutor, chaperone for field trips, etc.); Vote Taker; Zealot (for learning!) Zombie (lack of sleep from doing lesson plans and grading papers) Zoologist (self explanatory, esp. in the primary grades)
I really like the Zealot for learning! That is so creative. For V, how about Valuator (as in always helping students evlauate their work/choices/behavior and we are always placing value on them and their work.)
