I am looking for new curriculum for my SPED class for next year for math and language arts/reading. I have settled on Math Mammoth because I like the way it teaches to mastery and it doesn't teach several skills at one time, like most other curriculums do.

Does anyone have suggestions for Language Arts/Reading? Right now we use Abeka but it is really difficult for my students and moves too fast. It doesn't have much of a writing component and is basically grammar instruction. I don't need specific SPED curriculum because my students can learn from mainstream programs as long as I keep it a couple of years below their chronological age.

I really liked Houghton Mifflin Pre-K. If they make it for older grades, maybe you can check it out?

News2You (weekly PDF files) and Unique Curriculum (monthly PDF files) are good. I use them with mine. They are cross curriculum programs. It's the same company.

I use Jen Bengal's reading and writing workshop materials from TPT, she is awesome and its very flexible/adaptable.

My school uses LLI as an intervention for struggling readers. It is effective so far. It is also very expensive.
