Hello! I am looking for some craft ideas to make for Christmas. I teach in a private school, so parents expect "big" stuff. I don't want to spend money- preferably just something I can have parents donate. For example, I know we will make tin punch lids - and all I have to do is ask parents to donate juice lids. Any creative/unique ideas? Thanks!!

You could ask students to bring cleaned empty soup or vegetable cans. Cover with paper--maybe white construction with the student's own drawing. "Paint" over the paper with watered down Elmer's glue, and wait till it dries hard and clear. Have them put this poem inside before wrapping:

This little can, made of tin,
I washed and saved to use again.
I added paper, I added glue,
And I made a present just for you.

It's for your trinkets or your pens.
You can show it to your friends.
It isn't empty, for, you see,
It's filled with love to you from me.
