Hi everyone! I was just offered a position teaching 4th grade for an online school. I'm very excited! The position is working with 4th graders in need of reading remediation. I am hoping to spend the rest of the summer reading books that would appeal to my students and researching literacy activities that could be translated to a virtual school. Any suggestions for good, high-quality literature I should be reading? Things that would appeal to maybe late second grade through to early fourth grade. Also, any tried-and-true literacy activities I should look into? I'm planning on using a lot of Rasinski activities, as he is a current professor of mine. I'd like to do some activities that involve investigating Greek and Latin roots to strengthen vocabulary and word solving strategies. Thanks so much!
