I had a lot of happy nieces and nephews and two days with various family members! I also got the first pair of gloves I have had since I was a teenager (a long time ago!). They are fuzzy and warm. A cool pair of pajamas. Some tasty olive oil. Lots of good food.
My parents still go all out too. I think they need some grandchildren. lol. BF got me tires and some coffee mixes. We are also buying a stove together probably in February. So romantic. lol. My brother got me a name in pictures like this. http://gifts.personalcreations.com/...id=alextierb&viewpos=1&trackingpgroup=PWALLFR Got some jewelry, snow globe, board games, dvds, a spoon rack for my collection, some kitchen items, a sweater, etc. We got a keurig, some sheets, etc. I am most excited about the Keurig, I think.
Silver, I got a Keurig from dh three years ago for my birthday. The joke in our house is that is was a poor choice of a gift because now he can never get me a better gift! I love my Keurig. My kids love it too for hot cocoa.
I knew we were getting ours and my dad got one too, so I got a big bag of different cups for it. I like them all! We have the hot chocolate too, and cider and chai, in addition to all the coffees.
Chem, about a week before Christmas the last few years, my mom calls me and asks if it's about the time every year that she considers just giving us all cash...
I've got a trio of boys that are short a set of grandparents. I could rent my boys out if either one of your parents need a set of grandkids to fill in the gap....
I live 6 hours from my family, so it was nice to just come home and sleep! I did get a few things as well: -practical kitchen items (spatula, strainer, etc.) -financial help towards a new TV. (I paid half) -$50 Target gift card -DonorsChoose project funded by my relatives.
Make sure you register your Keurig on their site. They'll send you a coupon code to get 2 boxes of k-cups free when you purchase 2 boxes!
A new pair of flannel pjs, a beautiful willow figurine of a couple holding a baby, and a $20 caribou coffee card. I got a stocking full of chocolate goodies!
I already used my coupon! I'm having a hard time finding a coffee K-cup that I like very much. Hopefully I'll like some of the ones I ordered.
I got a couple gift cards, ornaments and a new blender. Our money is pretty tight right now, but we were able to get our kids a few nice things. We have some great neighbors that brought them each a gift and some beautiful handmade fleece blankets. I hope someday I am in a position to help other families have a great Christmas, too.
These gifts were from our neighbors (gift card and ornament) and my father (blender). My dh and I haven't exchanged gifts for most of our marriage because money is always tight.
We exchanged with my mom tonight and I got some clothes, some gift cards, some magazines, a calendar, and a necklace. I also got some stocking stuffer type things.
I bought some K-cups with the xmas money I got from my MIL. I bought Van Houtte's Chocolate Raspberry and Tully's Breakfast Blend.
If you like bolder coffee flavors, I cannot recommend Coffee People coffee highly enough! We love Donut Shop, Tree Hugger, Wake Up Call, Jet Fuel, and Black Tiger.
My husband will second this! He loves coffee people. We have a local shop that sells the k ups individually, and he tends to like coffee people ones the best.
It's Now 2014! It's now 2014! What did you get? $700 cash 3 DVD movies: The Other Woman, We're the Millers, & The fast & Furious 6 (haven't even watched 2) $20 Express GC $50 Macy's GC Knit grey scarf & glove set White watch w/ some black & red White all-weather jacket Light grey cowl neck sweater White Michael Kors silver-mirrored aviator sunglasses Black leather Serta Back in Motion Health & Wellness Mid-Back office chair (early gift to myself!) (I may get another thing or two from someone else when I see them tomorrow, which I'll add here!)
I received the love of my family, the joy of seeing my family open their gifts, the sound of laughter at some of the comical gifts that were given, and being seated at the table enjoying food prepared with loving hands. I had a wonderful and enriching Christmas day. I hope everyone had a memorable day.
This is what counts...the best gifts of all... "What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. What if Christmas...perhaps...means a little bit more!” Outside of all the wrappings and bows and gifts which are enjoyable, I wish for all the peace of the season, the love of family and blessings of this holiday.
Our best gifts were the games that we got. My favorite part of Christmas, New Year's Eve, Thanksgiving is that we traditionally play board games. My kids are 18 & 22 yrs. old and they look forward to it every year.
What games did you get? Love games..board, card or even video...still have fun with just dance! We got apples to apples!
I got a total of about $280 in cash, checks, and gift cards to places I regularly go, a Playstation 4 (sweet!), and a new Keurig machine.
From my parents & brother I got: A video game I wanted (that I would've purchased myself, but I had to ask for something) A bag of peanut M&Ms Two normal bags of beef jerky Headphones for my computer Two vintage radios (I collect radios) From my extended family: A tin with three halfway-full twist-tie bags of cheese doodles A (losing) $2 scratchoff $100 cash
I had a nice time at Mom's house for dinner. Then I went to church services with two friends. After that I went late-night back roads cruising with BF. I have everything I need and most of what I want all year, so we don't worry about presents.
I got a board game I'd had my eye on from my husband. He also got me a neat ornament and a book, and a set of my favorite lip gloss. Mostly, I've gotten to spend time with all of my family.
We got Minion Operation, Monopoly Empire & The Best of TV & Movies. There is no money involved with the Minion Operation, you just remove the pieces & the person with the most pieces is the winner. Monopoly Empire is a lot like the original, but ends when someone's tower is filled. The Best of TV & Movies is a fun trivia game.
The kids got money. My granddaughter got more toys than an 11 month old can ever use (She is the 1st grandchild on our side and the 5th on her daddy's side but the only girl so she is a little spoiled.) My hubby got me a windows surface tablet and I got him a larger TV. We are also re-furnishing 4 rooms in our house and as of last night a new dishwasher since ours totally died. We all (hubby, kids, and myself got tons of clothes, gift cards, and cash). There have been many times when money was very tight and this was not one of them so we decided to go all out this year. My favorite gift was having the entire family over at our house last weekend. This is the first year in many that all of the siblings and cousins on my hubbys side have been able to get together. My FIL has been very ill so getting to see all his grandchildren was the best gift that we could have given him. Although my MIL and FIL are having so much fun playing with the Kuerig we gave them.
I got coffee, chocolate, more coffee (one can never have too much coffee), slippers, gift cards, tickets to the dinner theater, more coffee (no joke) and A Christmas Story Monopoly game!!!! I will be getting some stuff when I see my family tonight but I think my mom is getting me a gift card and my brother got me something (I hope more gift cards). I don't really care what I get but I can't wait until my nephew sees what I got him!
I got my college son home. Bob shoes Clark shoes Beads for my Brighton necklace A new steam cleaner An amazing robe Lots of little things and lots of time with my kids
Add in my college daughter, and these were what mattered most to me as well. My gifts from my children were very thoughtful--Lauren bought me a hand-crafted pewter angel to add to the collection that sits on my mantle during the holidays and Alex got my husband and I tickets to see "Jersey Boys" next weekend. Time with family, though, is what is most precious.
You'll love "Jersey Boys". I saw it on Broadway about 5 years ago and it was absolutely wonderful. Couldn't stop singing the songs for several weeks.
