So with the adoption of the Common Core Standards, my school is ditching Teachers College and taking up Ready Gen as the literacy program. I heard that Ready Gen is not about the guided reading levels of the students and is quite different from Teachers College.
Do any of you have experience with Ready Gen?

As a result, I am thinking about leveling my library by lexile rather than guided reading levels but I am not sure how to go about making the labels for the baskets or organizing my library for lexile.

Should I just put the lexile level on the label? Has anyone else done this? Or do you know a better way to organize the library.

I don't have experience with Ready Gen, but I have my classroom library organized into bins by genre and within the genre the books have a colored sticker which the students use to determine the level. If you are using lexile to level your books I would recommend downloading the Level It Books App. You can scan the ISBN or type in the book name and it gives you the Lexile level
