I just found out my budget for my new classroom is $120 for the whole year. What is your budget for your classroom?
$200...it has decreased steadily since I started. It's already spent. We order in the spring for the upcoming year. $650 to $600 to $400 to $300 to $200
$400.00 provided by my credentialing program. And from my school they just tend to order what I need. My AP is awesome.
I don't have a classroom budget - the office orders what I need, but I usually ask if it's anything unusual or expensive. What do you have to buy with your budget? Does it include copies/paper?
no, we are VERY lucky to not have a limit on our copying yet (though with my budget I'm sure it's on the way). I am adding a wishlist to my webpage right now!
My P buys supplies and stocks up - we take what we need. If we need something big (books usually), just have to ask. I've never been denied.

$0...they do provide us with things like pens, overhead/whiteboard markers, sentence strips, etc. Basic office supplies. The classrooms also come with a lot of manipulatives. If you want something specific you have to buy it yourself.
$900!!!! Wow!!! Does this also include field trips? The most I was ever given was $500, and that included a program, that no longer exists as they are broke. Last year, I received $0 because the office spent my classroom money first. I found out when I asked about ordering things for my classroom.
I've never been given anything! I have to buy everything I use in the classroom. However, we do have unlimited copying, including color copies. And out parents are generally amazing about sending in things we need.
Fifty dollars and, considering how many on this forum don't have jobs, it is a sum I am very thankful to receive.
No, it doesn't include field trips. We usually go on two. The PTO will subsidize half the cost of one trip and the children will pay the rest of the costs. It usually amounts to no more than $6.00 for each trip that the student pays. If they are unable to pay the office will do it. By the way I didn't come close to spending the $900.
We get $150 per year, but don't have a copy limit..... Most of us spend it on office supplies usually, as they are not provided by the school itself.

We get about $10 a student to buy everything we need and our copy paper. So I get about 270. We order through our district and stuff is a lot cheaper than if you went to a store.
Zero. Our department chair has a budget, and with that he has to purchase the copy paper we use, but the number of copies we make is technically not limited. We have a cupboard in our department workroom where there's a small supply of pens, tape, paper clips, dry erase markers, etc. Anything else we buy ourselves or put on a wish list for our parents, who are usually very generous.
$150 - and I get no supplies from the school not even a piece of chalk. We have copies but were told at the end of last year that we can have one ream of paper a month anything beyond that we need to supply until they run out of toner or it breaks I'm sure.

We get $100 to requisition materials or anything that we need in the classroom. All office supplies (within reason) are readily supplied. Copies are not limited, per se. And "most" general art supplies are completely paid for. To use my money up last year, I ordered plastic magazine holders from Really Good Stuff for each student.
We get $150, down from the $240 when I started. I don't really need a lot. I buy dry-erase markers, tissues, cleaning supplies and paper with it so I don't know what I'd do with more than that. The kids bring their own supplies and I have extras (pencils, erasers, etc.) in my drawer but I haven't spent more than $5 on that stuff since last years penny sale.

Teachers who have no money to spend...I assume you do not use any workbooks? I just had my budget cut and now need to deal with having no workbooks to go along with our reading and spelling programs (fine with me...I never liked those workbooks ). It will be interesting to see how we all deal with less money.
$0 this year=( It was $525, then $400, now $0! Copy paper is provided, but copies are 2 cents each. PTO did give us each $50 and said they'd buy use an ink cartridge. Kids bring basic school supplies, but anything extra I'll just be begging parents for this year.
Hi! We receive $0, however we have an amazing group of parents who get our "wish list" at the beginning of the school year. They are also really great about sending in tissues and wipes, etc. I am very lucky to have such wonderfully supportive families at my school.
I get $0 to spend. We have a cupboard with pens, markers, glue, etc. We also have unlimited copies-per se. We have a code on the copy machine so they are keeping track of who uses the most! It is fun trying to guess other codes!! Just kidding!
I don't know for this year yet. I know last year at the end of the year our grade level had $1000 dollars to spend for instructional needs for this year (couldn't be office supplies, had to be for games/activities to be used with the students) It was divided between the 5 teachers that were remaining on that grade level so worked out to be $250 each. I was going to a new school so of course my part was $0. I asked about ordering for the school I was going to and was told everyone was being ordered the same thing. It ended up being office supplies and it also ended up being alot of things that I don't use. I ended up going and buying what I actually needed. I got lucky though and caught some really good sales. I am at an awesome school and have access to some wonderful technology that we didn't have last year at my old school so it balances out. My parents were really good about bringing in supplies (I ended up with 2 large plastic storage bins full of supplies) when the kids started bringing supplies. Some parents even sent "extras".
