Your last summer is similar to my this summer - 2 weeks to get ready! Right now it seems like time is moving so slowly, but this summer will go by in a blink! My current school doesn't get out until June 27 (SO. LATE.) and there is a teacher day June 30 (a Monday...), we are moving about 400 miles away around July 12, and then I have writing training at my new school July 30, teachers start August 5, and kids start August 11! :dizzy:

I like to look at it terms of duty days, makes it seem shorter. So, four duty days left, about a month of school days.

I had to give my kids a huge lecture about how we have almost a month of "school" left. "School" as in there are still assignments, assessments, projects due, etc. We had our testing last week, so they thing they're finished with everything, apparently.

I think, in all honesty, my kids have already "checked out" of school. May is the month of state testing so curriculum suffers because I have to cram so much with not much time.....

The kids keep asking me "How many weeks of school are there left?" And I reply with, "If you keep asking, it's gonna seem like forever, so stop asking."

The other "important" question from my kids is either, "How many days have I missed?" or "How many of your classes have I missed?" If they miss no more than 5 days, they are exempt from taking finals.

Wow. In my district if they miss more than three days of a class they fail that class. They have to have good attendance and a 90% or higher to be exempt from final exams, and that only applies to seniors. Underclassmen have to take them.
