Do you hand yours in to be checked by your principal? If so how often do you hand them in and does everyone hand them in the same day? We hand ours in every week to be checked.
We don't hand them in to our principal. We do hand in a weekly plan as a team for concepts we will be covering. These are kept in a binder in the office for specialists so that they can coordinate with what we are teaching.
We don't hand anything in to our principal, but our administration reserves the right to view our lesson planner at any time, even though they almost never do!
We submit them to our Curriculum Director each Monday, but I don't know how often he checks them or even if he does. I try to stay a week or two ahead with mine, just in case there's ever a problem.
Nope! Thank goodness. I hope that never changes. I did last year - had to turn them in two weeks in advance. I think I was the only one who actually did it though and I stopped mid-year. My plans tend to change daily.
No sharing of lesson plans for us! I don't know what I would do if they did because I spend a ridiculous amount of time prepping as it is.
They have to be emailed to one of our secretaries each Monday by 8 a.m. She keeps an Excel spreadsheet for our Principal, who checks them whenever she comes to observe us.
Same here. The only exception is when we are being evaluated--we must submit plans for the lesson/class that will be observed. Oh, and if we have a sub, there had better be plans on the desk!
Everyone in our school used to have to hand them in every week. What a pain that was! Then my P got on a paper concern kick. Now, we just have to have them in our rooms (which should be a given anyway) and she is supposed to check them every week by coming to our classrooms. That hasn't happened this year and it happened only about 6 times last year. We have to have lesson plans for our sub if we are gone however I guess there have been incidences where there has been none. I have no idea if anything has ever been done about this but in my opinion, I think it should be required that we submit lesson plans to our P via email or whatever if we have a sub. It would also cover our butts as well.
We don't have to hand them in to anyone, but we have a distict curriculum guide that we are supposed to follow. We also have a common planning period and teachers who teach the same grade and subject should be on the same schedule. If I had to turn in plans on a weekly basis, I would hate it. Just saying...
We have a pacing guide we're supposed to follow, but only have to turn in lesson plans for formal observations. I would go insane if I had to turn in written plans for each day.
That week's plans are due the first MOnday of the month. At my school last year, the previous week's plans were due on Fridays about every other week or so. My P doesn't want full-blwon plans, though, just a copy of whatever's in our plan books, with the standards on them. According to contract, they are supposed to be done at least 3 days in advance, and the admin can review them if and when they seem necessary. I've yet to have a problem with mine.
We submit our lesson plans every Thursday morning by 8 for the following week. Our principal (bless her heart) reviews them and gives each teacher feedback (form checklist, with suggestions). And, yes, every teacher - we are a 4-8 grade school with about 75 teachers - turns them in on the same day. I don't mind; it keeps me on my toes!
We have to post ours on the server by 9 each Monday. We are also supposed to have a hard copy on our desk in case administration comes in.
