What kind of planner do you use to record, organize, and schedule upcoming lessons? Is there an app or do you just use a spreadsheet in google docs? I haven't received much curriculum or planning guidance (as of yet) and I am wondering what format or tools I could be using.

When I student taught I used a color-coded google spreadsheet for weekly overviews and then made a table in Word for daily plans. I had a different document for each subject and then each section of the table was a day of the week with the full plan in it. (Which sounds way more complicated than it probably needed to be but it worked for me). Read aloud and guided reading plans were different because the school had a specific format for those.

I made a template in Google Docs with a nice table for my plans. My grade level partner and I collaborate and hand in one set of lesson plans for the two of us, so we have the Google Docs as a shared document. We each add to the plans throughout the week and then we hand in one set of plans to our P at the end of the week for the following week.

Is this for a new job? Don't start anything until you know what your school requires! Many schools have very specific systems or methods for planning.
