    Hi...
I would really like to incorporate more songs into my curriculum this coming year. My 2nd graders tend to be at that transitional age, where they sometimes still like the cute stuff, but don't want to be uncool. A lot seems to depend on what the class 'leaders' remarks are about a song. I'd like to find a handful of songs that I can just play as background that the kids will eventually learn the words to and I'd like to have some that are tied to curriculum. I'm most comfortable with music that is on CD so I don't have to rely on ME remembering the tune ;-) I do play classical and other mellow instrumentals while the kids work, but I want to find more that they will end up singing along with.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

Hands down, no questions....you must get Dr. Jean's CD's. She is wonderful and her CD's are fun, kids love them, and they cover soooooo many topics. I'm not sure where to buy them (ebay, amazon?) but she does have a website:

    www.drjean.org

She also has workshops, t-shirts, downloadables. It's a great site!
