Please forgive my ignorance. My niece called me to ask how to do her english homework and she stumped me. She needs to write layered elaborations using who what when where and why. I didn't know what to tell her to do. Anyone have any help??? TIA

She is in fourth grade. I'm glad I'm not the only one stumped.

I have never heard of that before....
I student taught in fourth grade and we didn't do anything like that, but I'm doing a long-term sub position in a fourth grade now so maybe I should find out what the heck that is! haha

I googled and aol searched- the only refernce I could find was:"Elaboration and support were most often adequate.
The better papers showed layered elaboration." in a report on strengths and weaknesses in writing at the 10th grade. Is the who, where what, when etc based on a piece of reading? In that case I think I would describe each element with supporting details from the story.......
