My brother in law stays there every time he goes. (He's a lawyer, making a VERY comfortable living, so it's not a question of money.) He, his wife and his two twenty-somethng daughters really enjoy it there.

Take a look at the slide show at www.allears.net

Just a suggestion to anyone going to Disney:
I went over break and it rained one evening. It wasn't a big deal because we were planning on leaving anyway. But Disney was selling these rain ponchos for 9 dollars each! They were just plastic...nothing special. We didn't buy them, but a lot of people bought one for each family member, which can add up! I recommend buying cheap rain ponchos beforehand or bringing a raincoat.

Walmart and the Dollar store both have great disposable ponchos. I like walmart's more, because the package is smaller.

    Sorry, Julia was in pain.

Anyway, we order from garden grocer, though people also swear by www.wegoshop.com We get bottled water, park snacks and breakfast food. Both places will deliver right to your resort; Bell Services will refrigerate your order if you're not in when it arrives.

On a slightly different note: If it's been a long time since you were there, you should know that it's VERY hard to get into a lot of the restaurants without Advanced Dining Reservations. You can make them 180 days out, so you can make them now for early June. Lots of them now require a credit card, but won't charge your card unless you cancel without 48 hours notice.

Are you doing the dining plan?

No, we're not doing the dining plan. Because of my mom's medical issues, she's really limited on what she can eat (she'll mostly get by on Ensure while we're there). So, we won't do too many sit-down meals.

Then wegoshop may be a better place for you.

You tell them what you want them to buy-- brand name, size, and so on, and I think you tell them where you want them to shop. They'll get you exactly the brands you need.

Actually, she figured out that she can order from Wal-Mart and ship it right to the hotel!

I started playing around a bit with the online dining reservations. Since I can be flexible, I think we'll be able to get most of what we wanted.

And, the plan changed--it's no longer early June; we're going in 2 1/2 weeks!

Very excited for you amak! (and man, I wish my autocorrect would stop changing your name to amok, it gets tedious to have to go back and change it back to your name!)

So far, we have Ms. Mar, mom2ohc and me in on a photopass share for August.

If anyone else is going in early-to-mid August and wants in, please let me know. There's no rush; I won't pre=order the CD until July/

So, I am doing the Dining Plan now. We originally didn't because it didn't make sense to pay for it since my mom wouldn't be able to use it at all. She had to call last night to ask about something else, and asked if there was a way that I could just get on the dining plan. After two very nice cast members brainstormed a bit, they were able to use some private pin code that gave free quick-service dining, and then we paid to upgrade that to the regular plan. The cost of doing that was about the same as the dining plan for 1 person. So, we're all set!

FYI-- anyone going anytime in the near future:

Photo pass will be going up to $169 in another week (I think they said the 21st.) Pre-order price will go up to $129.

I'm ordering the one for our August share when I get paid on Thursday. That way we'll still get the $99 price :D

This whole trip can just be so expensive if you don't find the bargains!! And it burns me to pay more than I have to!

Alice, have you thought about doing the Disney cruise one year while you are down here visiting? What a wonderful addition to your memory book that would be!

    I've thought about it.

But to be honest, the Disney cruises are EXPENSIVE compared to other cruise lines. And I like Bermuda so much more than the Bahamas. So I don't imagine we'll do DCL anytime soon.

Wahoo!! I was reviewing our ADR's, and decided to try one last time to get us in for lunch at Le Cellier's (that was the only one I REALLY wanted, but there was NOTHING open). Well, I got us in on the last full day of our trip. :) :) :)

Must be my lucky day! The only other ADR I wanted and couldn't get was Chef Mickey's for breakfast; I just got one there, too!

How exciting! My daughter will be here over spring break next week and asked me to pick a restaurant that we haven't been to in a while. We're going to go to Le Cellier's, too. We usually skip eating meals at the parks and just eat when we get home, so this will be a nice treat.

Peter's birthday is Monday. He leaves in about a month for the Senior Trip to Disney. I've already gotten him the 2 DVDs he says are all he wants. (Seasons 2 and 3 of the sitcom Lovejoy)

Aside from a Disney Gift card, can you think of any other Disney-trip related things we can get him?

    Here Diz: http://www.disneyphotopass.com/previsitoffer.aspx

But if you're going anytime in the almost-near future, pre-order before Wednesday. One of my friends at work has DVC and is going with her grandkids in February, and pre-ordered yesterday.

Joyful, I'm sorry; I forget that not everyone here "knows" me. Peter is my husband; he's going on the Senior Trip as a chaperone. But he's gone down a pants size since last summer (thanks to stress) and needs new shorts for the trip. So I'll hit Kohls tomorrow :)

    Ama, have a fabulous time!!!

I'm sorry...I just assumed your son was named Peter after your husband! Well, I doubt he'll like the graduation ears. :) Thanks for explaining without making me feel out of the loop. You are always gracious! With that said, hopefully you've thought of everything for his trip.

Ama, I hope you have a magical trip! I'm so excited for anyone to go as it is our favorite place!

Joyful, it hit me last night: our son is graduating from middle school in June. We're not planning a big celebration-- it's middle school and you're SUPPOSED to graduate. We'll probably just do dinner or something. But Peter could pick up a pair of the graduation ears when he goes down in April. Brian would probably get a kick out of them.

    Thanks for the idea!!
