My boyfriend and I are trying to plan a trip to Vegas possibly for next summer. Any suggestions as to what hotel to stay in? We've been looking online, but are open to any suggestions that people may have!!
    Thanks! :)

Beth, My mom goes every year and stays at the Flamingo, The Mirage or The Golden Nugget. I know they have nice pools b/c that is why my mom stays there!
I know MGM is very big and NY NY has a rollercoaster. I have heard good things about the hotels from friends.

If your looking for fancy we stayed at Caesar's Palace for our honeymoon. It wasn't too expensive.

I'm really looking for a room with a jacuzzi. That just seems like the ultimate vacation to me! I'm leaning towards the NYNY because it looks like they've got a nice "spa suite" for a lot less money than the other hotels.

Caesar's has that. That's why I chose that hotel for our honeymoon. :)

I have stayed at NY NY. Very nice. Lots to do and see there. Great location on the strip. One thing to keep in mind is that Vegas is HOT in the summer, a pool would be nice and refreshing. NY NY's pool was nothing to right home about. I have stayed at Mandalay Bay. Very nice rooms, very plush. Great pool!!!! Only draw back is the location. Last hotel on the strip. Why don't you stay at the new hotel, the Wynn? Looks awesome. Enjoy your vaction

Treasure Island is my favorite resort there. It's right on the Strip, and has one of the Cirque du Soleil shows right in the hotel. Plus, their casino is just the best.

Cesar's Palace is fun, so is the Lexor (shaped like a pyramid - Egyptian themed) MGM Grand is fun also.

Flamingo is great! (Although I'm not sure about their Jacuzzi rooms.) It's right center strip, so it's a great location. Plus, unlike Bally's you don't have a long walk to get to the strip, you walk out the front door and you're there. Make sure you have the Paris breakfast buffet. It's soooo yummy. :) Have fun!

Thanks soo much everyone for all of the suggestions!! There are so many hotels to choose from so we keep going back and forth trying to decide. The way I see it, we've never been to Vegas and we're not "world travelers" so we'll probably be happy no matter where we end up! haha I'm not too worried about the pools because it'll most likely be during the summer and will honestly probably be too hot to spend too much time out by the pool. Like I said, I've never been to Las Vegas, but I did go to Arizona in August and it was about 115 everyday and the pool was about 90 so it wasn't even refreshing! Soo....I dont know, I"ll keep you updated with our decisions, though! :) Any other suggestions are also welcomed....

    Thanks again everyone!!

I agree with Treasure Island. I stayed there when I went for my 21st birthday. The rooms were nice and the service was great around the hotel and casino. I loved it! It's also one of the more reasonably priced hotels. My mom works for a travel club and that is where they book rooms for all the groups they send out there.

The other hotels are really cool too. New York New York was one of my favorites as far as the decor. I don't know anything about the rooms or anything though...Ceasar's Palace and Paris are also a couple that I thought were really neat inside the casino area. I'm not sure on the actual rooms though...

Well, that's my two cents. Good luck with your search! I'm sure you will have a blast! :)

I'm going to Las Vega (via Phoenix and such) and will be staying at The Boardwalk hotel. I'll let you know what I think!

Anyone have suggestions on what to do there? The only plans we've made is where to stay and will play the rest by ear.

Hey...I was there last week. We stayed at Monte Carlo. I really liked it because of the wave pool and river. We stayed by the pool because it was 116 degrees they day we arrived. I've stayed at Bellagio once and WOW it was nice...but really expensive. When I stayed at Imperial Palace...they upgraded my b/f and I to a suite for free!! That was awesome!!
The Excalibur has a cute carnival type game section that might be fun w/ your bf. I saw the Cirqui do solei (not sure how to spell :) show a couple years ago and it was very good. If he's cool and likes to shop...there are outlet shops nearby. The Bellagio water show is beautiful!

I live 300 miles from Las Vegas! We go frequently. My favorite spot to stay so far was at the Rio. It is an ALL SUITE HOTEL. The rooms were not too expensive but they were really nice. It is barely off of the strip. Our room had a king size bed, floor to ceiling windows along one whole wall with a view of the strip, it had a great pool, and it is known to have the worlds best buffet. We loved it! Some of me and my husbands favorite things to do in Vegas are: go to the new Bass Pro Shops (amazing animal exhibits), shark reef at Mandalay Bay, they have a great outlet mall North of town right off the freeway by old Las Vegas, we love to go to Lake Mead fishing or for boat rides, I love to go and see the Venetian every time it is just a beautiful building. The rollar coasters are always fun, there is the Stratosphere, NY NY, and the speedway at the Sahara. They said you really need to go and see the new hotel. I am not exactly sure what it starts with but I know the last time we went in May the cab driver said it was amazing. I think it starts with a M (I am sure that helps) I know it is huge you can't miss it! The joust at the excalibur is a lot of fun. There is so much to do (including relaxation) and never enough time. I'm sorry for rambling, but I live so close and go frequently.

Hi! I have been to Vegas twice, last year and the year before. I stayed at the Tropicana and the Excalibur. The Tropicana's room was a lot nicer than the Excalibur and it has a nice pool. If I were going to go again I would want to stay at the Treasure Island or Paris. One thing that I thought was nice was the new tram they have that takes you from the MGM to Bally's. It really saves walking in the heat. We also took a night tour of Vegas and that was really cool! Good luck with your planning! I hope you have a great time!

    Hey Nat,
I lived in Santa Clarita, CA...about an hour north of Los Angeles. It would take us about 4 hours to get to Vegas. What about you??

I live in Beaver, Ut. It is in Southern Utah. It takes about 3 hours to get there. We go to Vegas about twice a year and we go to Mesquite Nevada which is only about 1 1/2 hours about every 6 weeks. It is such a nice getaway.

Has anyone been inside the new Wynn resort? I was curious about what it looks like inside. They were still building it when I was there last year.

The Bellagio is pricey but so posh!!! I love it, if you don't stay there, you must at least visit it.

Yes, was there in June. It is VERY similar to the Bellagio. It is beautiful, and the golf course amazes me-in the middle of the desert-lots of flowers, gorgeous tile work. I was quite disappointed at how similar it was to the Bellagio. Seems to me if they are building something new it should look different!

I live in Las Vegas!!! The hotels off of the strip are almost as good (if not as good or better) than some of the strip hotels. Try the Palms or Rio even the Gold Coast is good. If you have any more questions you can email me at tetoe89146@earthlink.net

PS The slots are a lot looser off the strip

I went to Vegas last December stayed at the Stratosphere. It was nice but it's at then end of the strip. We rented a car. That was great, a convertible. I felt like a star with top down driving up and down the strip. We went during the National Final Rodeo. We went to see Brad Paisely, he is soooo cute. THis was a girls weekend so it was a lot of fun. We didnt't really gamble much, we just went and looked around at all the hotels. Spent time men bashing, hahahahah. We are planning another trip this year, but we are taking our husbands this time. ALso we are going to stay further down the strip.

You have to make sure you go and walk through all of the big hotels, because it is just amazing to see them. I went for the first time in July, and we spent about 4 nights just looking at all the sights and walking around. The Bellagio's buffet is absolutely amazing (though expensive, but so is everything), and the Venetian is beautiful too.

Looking at the hotels is a lot of fun. The Paris is beautiful inside! The attention to detail that the hotels have is amazing.
