    Hello Everyone,

I am in Canada, and last year we used Spectrum Reading in our class. It is primarily US-based with readings that are all about US states. Can you recommend any (Canadian or US-based) workbooks that are good for reading comprehension for grade 1? Also, for Language, what resources are you using in your classes?

    Thanks in advance!

I like the Evan Moor workbooks a lot. That's the link for the language one but they have them for all subjects.

For supplemental support for grammar, I use McGraw Hill Language Workbook (which I have saved on my computer as pdf files...they were free)
For your first grade reading class, I suggest that you use Magic Penny. I do not teach with Magic Penny because my grade levels are 2nd-4th. I have occasionally talked to my colleague about reading (and to understand what some of my current 2nd graders learned in her classroom last year)
