Can anyone suggest a cheap but good laminator?
I have a Purple Cow brand. I got it from Joann's for $40 on sale. I like it.
I have a Duck (like the tape) brand one that I bought new on eBay. I don't think they're made anymore, but you can find them on eBay from time to time. It works pretty well, just give it breaks every now and then to cool down.
I have a Scotch one that I bought from BJ's for under $25. I love it! It's much better then the cheap stuff my school laminates with. I highly recommend it!

I have a Xyron brand and I love it. I had a small electric one and it caused more problems then it was worth. I like it because it is all manual, you can take it anywhere. The problem is if you have alot of laminating, the film is rather expensive. My husband bought me the machine for my birthday one year, and I use part of my school budget money to order a roll of film each year. The film is very thick and never 'peels', bubbles up or wrinkles.
For those of you who have a laminator-Do you think it's more cost effective to buy a laminator, or to take it to Staples, Office Depot, etc. to get laminated. The laminate pouches cost a lot of money.
I've found it far cheaper to have a personal laminator. I get the pouches through Costco online, for about $17 for 100 which fits a regular size sheet of paper. To buy the same size laminated at Kinkos costs about $2!
Mine is also a Scotch that cost about $22 from Sam's Club. I LOVE it! Works perfectly for my needs!

I have one as well - and the laminating pouches I get are way better than what the school does and I can do it when I want to at home. I think it saves money in the long run and is cheaper than going to Staples/Office Max for it.
I may have to check into one of these. I always thought they were too expensive, but these prices are GREAT!
I have the scotch brand. I got it at BJs for a similar price. I have yet to open it and use it though... haha. But i'm glad to hear others like it! I think there is a website that sells the pouches for real cheap... I want to say it's laminator.com or something obvious like that.

I also agree that it is much more cost effective to do it at home.
