Except for jeans on Fridays, I think I've only worn pants a few times this year. I usually wear dresses to school, and in the winter, I just wear tights with a dress. I think part of the reason is that I'm petite, so finding pants that fit is a struggle!

    What do you prefer wearing?

When the weather is mild to warm, I prefer dresses and skirts. When it starts to get colder, I'm definitely a pants kind of gal. I enjoy dresses and skirts, but dislike hosiery in all forms, so I don't wear them in cold weather much.

In the summer I almost always wear skirts because it's too hot around here. So it's more comfortable.
In the fall I start to wear more pants, and in the winter (it gets a little cold in the mountains, but not that cold) I wear very long skirts (ankle length) about half the time. I don't wear dresses, it would be way too dressy for these schools. Even as of now I'm probably the mos dressed up person.

I only wear pants for jean Fridays. I am an "apple" shape as well as really short so finding dress pants that fit is an absolute nightmare. I gave up several years ago. I wear skirts and dresses with leggings or tights and boots. I don't own a single pair of dress pants!

I've always been a pants girl since about junior high. But lately I've found myself wanting to wear the two skirts I do own. One is below my knees the other is ankle length. With the shorter one I wear dressy boots that go almost to my knees and the longer one... Well, it's about 29 degrees here lately and today I wore pajama pants under the long skirt. But hey, I was warm and I looked good! lol

The teacher I've been observing all semester never wears skirts. She wears jeans 2 to 3 times a week but there's also no dress code at her school. She does, however, wear nice shirts and shoes that dress up her jeans. She always looks nice.

I wear jeans pretty much every day to work. Once in a while I will wear chinos. I never know when I might have to help chase, restrain, stop a fight or escort one of our students.

I've gotten into a slightly miserable rut of wearing jeans way too often. At my workplace, they don't care if you wear jeans 5 days a week.

Yup, this is me also. I would never wear a dress/skirt at my current school. It's just not practical. When I taught at a regular school I wore skirts about twice a week.

I wear mostly dress slacks, but I wear skirts some, too. I have trouble with dresses because I have a long torso. Dresses with a waistband don't fit me correctly. My only dresses are waist-free styles.

I don't like jeans or twill (khaki) pants. I will sometimes wear a pair of jeans on Friday, but not always. I don't even own a pair of khaki pants.

I wear only dresses, except on Wednesdays when we can wear jeans. But I even wear skirts with my school shirt sometimes.

I have the most weight around my waist, so pants don't always fit me very well. I have to get a really big size to fit my waist, but then they're too big on my legs. I feel like dresses are more comfortable and figure flattering for me. The weather is the same year round here, so I don't have to worry about being cold. When I was in Idaho I would just wear tights with my dresses in the winter.

I wear a dress to our graduation because it is expected. That's the ONLY time you will find me in a dress.

Even when things are formal, I will wear pants. I can go formal with a great pair of shoes, a classy blouse, tasteful jewelry.

I'm a jeans and boots kinda gal. (As a youngster, I wore "boy" clothes all of the time ... my mom tried to get me into girly stuff, now way!)

Pants, pants and more pants. I haven't worn a dress or skirt to work (other than our graduation ceremony) in probably 5 years. However, with my weight loss, I need to think differently about clothes and not just buy the same style in smaller sizes; I need to try on some skirts and see how that goes.

This, although I am finding that some of the thicker tights are more comfortable than pantyhose used to be, and keep me reasonable warm...

    Pants every day, all year.

I wore a skirt ONCE while student teaching and a student told me I looked sexy. So it was back to loose fitting pants.

Oh we're talking about not at school? Oops!

Well not at school it's usually pants as well. I always buy or sew skirts and dresses thinking I'll wear them and never do. I have a good amount of dresses I wear for maybe fancy dinners or occasions. But every day wear is almost always pants. Even in the 100+ degree heat of summer!

I wear pants maybe once a week. Other than that, I do skirts/dresses with tights. I've been rocking tights this year since before it was seasonably comfortable, ha! I just like the extra coverage tights give (or.. at least feel like they give).

I wear pants in the cooler weather, and capris in the warmer weather. The last time I wore a skirt was my MIL's funeral...Once I lose more weight, I might look into skirts again!

Pants. The last time I wore a dress was when I got married...11 years ago. :p I like dresses with tights and boots look, though. I might try that. I've worn pants so long that I sometimes feel stupid when I try on a dress, lol.

Pants! I'm constantly sitting on the floor with the kids, and getting up while in a skirt is tricky. I wear skirts a couple of times a year at work, more often for other events in my life.

I wear a skirt or dress about once a week in the winter, but almost daily in the spring/summer. I LOVE dresses and skirts, but it's just too cold here in the winter to make them practical while trying to do outdoor recess duty.

I read through all these posts just so I could see what Dave had to say on the subject. ;) I was wondering if we were going to see him in a kilt! or maybe :woot:, hopefully not :p or :eek:hmy:

I wear mostly capris or pants - much easier with the preschoolers and toddlers, but sometimes dresses and skirts. I am with the hate hosiery crowd, so it is usually in the hot weather or special occasions.

    I wear yoga pants.
Yep. I never used to wear them before I got my job. I can't wear skirts because it's not practical with what I do. I bend over, move around, transfer people, jump up in a van, jump down from the van, etc. and well I just couldn't imagine.

I've found for the very same reason that jeans are a pain in the butt. Too tight. I can't breathe. If you catch them on the lift of the van they rip.... =/

    Yoga pants.

Well, not just yoga pants. I actually wear dress pants also. It depends.

I have done an extensive search for my family Tartan and the one I posted is so far as close as I can get, it from Shetland islands but my family came from The Orkney islands It just maybe correct, all I know a good Kilt cost about $800 (I'd rather buy my grandkids stuff) but if I had extra money I'd buy one. And I WOULD MODEL IT HERE ON A to Z

I already posted here, but when we return from the Christmas break, I'll need to definitely wear jeans on Wed if no other day because I'll start working with pre-schoolers.

To each their own... but you can wear dress clothes and work with pre-schoolers. There are many different kinds and styles of clothes that are easily washed in your machine.

My mom has taught kinder and pre-k for almost 30 years.

    She has always dressed professionally.

I have taught 1st, 2nd, and 6th. No matter what grade I'm teaching (even if I had to teach kinder), I'd still wear what I normally wear (slacks, shirt, and tie).

Well, I was a cross between Red neck and Wall Street. Beginning of the school year I would wear shirts and ties while I would teach drafting, but when we went into the shop or the School construction yard it would be many times jeans, loud suspenders, a plaid shirt with a pocket protector and a BMFH in my belt. A couple of years I got Work shirts and a Lab coat with My name (MR P____) on the pocket now that was cool.

One year the boys in the talent show did an act to the song "macho man" , it was a "strip tease" (not a real "strip tease") first they wore my "Super Professional" attire, then my Lab coat attire, then my construction attire and they finished with the PE teacher's attire, Shorts T-shirt with clipboard and whistle. The PE teacher and I got to walk through at the end and we argued who was going to get to "Man" the After school detention (with the alleged dancing perpetrators attending) The boys came in First and our part even though it was part of the boys act got honorable mention. The parents really liked it (the winners were chosen by who had the most money in pickle jar for each act, they had an envelope for us LOL)

I actually find my dress pants or long skirts (I've got some super comfy knee-length ones from Land's End) much more comfortable than jeans for being on the floor, up and down, etc. when working with little kids.
