Our cat had two kittens in early June and we still haven't agreed on names for them. One is black (with faint stripes on head and body) and the other is shades of gray, dark gray head and gets lighter gray down her body (she also has hints of stripes). Both kittens are girls. The gray one is quite the climber (she was the first to escape the box, and just today climbed up my leg), and the black one is very quick on her feet. We are leaning toward Rocky for the gray kitten, but are still undecided on the black one. Anyone have any suggestions? We'd like something a little unique, if possible.
My friend just named her female dog GiGi. I thought that was kinda cool. Our cat's name is Gato. Not too original ...
We have cats named Buffy Dickens Starbaby Vivan Cocco Rambo Moo-Moo Rosco Zipper Cosmo Wow, I didn't realize how many cats I have had in my life. That's a lot of cats I think I would have just as many dog names too
I always wanted to name a cat Chaos. I named my last cat that, but I changed it after a couple days. It didn't suit her at all. She was much more a "Lola." I always said that any more cats I have will be named after Chinese food, since according to my mom that's what happens to stray cats if no one adopts them. lol. So my next cat will probably be Kung Pao or General Tso.
My favorite cat's name was Frosty. I had her for 11 years and got her when I was in the 3rd grade. That cat seriously saved my life once when I was younger (not kidding!) Frosty rocks!
LoL! Good names! I've had cats named: Diojee (d-o-g) Peediddle Squeak (cat couldn't meow - just made that particular noise) Jazz Cleopatra Used to live next door to a lady who had a cat named Sushi.
I personally don't care for human names for pets...not because I don't consider them a member of the family...I certainly do! I view pet names as the opportunity to be creative! How about: Fuzz/Fuzzy Fizzle Cloud Stripe Diamond Spark/Sparkle Shock Bounce Jitter Dusty (for the gray one) Socks (kind of common for cats though) Bolt (for the fast one) Zip (for the fast one) Pumpkin (named my cat this) Midnight (named my cat this) Puff (named my rabbit this)
here's our story My son is an animal lover! Even tho we already had a siamese cat named Zoe, he wanted his own kitten. So being the good mom that I am, I bought a tabby home from the shelter. When we brought him home the first thing that he did was race pell mell thru the house Rugs upturned, plants knocked over-well you can just imagine. What did we name him? Tsunami because, even 4 years later, he leaves a path of destruction everywhere he goes We love him tons and my son wants to take him to the dorms when he goes to college in 3 years
Right now we've got: Mali Junior Tux Slimmy Mazie Moon Trinket Fogg Don Gato Spirit Spike Bit Nail Bill Split Foxy Lizzie Gray Ditto
Past cat names I have had (or have): Lola Cash Roman Candy Casey Toupee (had a grey spot on his otherwise white head) Bugs Bunny Patches Garfield Socks Beaker Spicka (SPCA) lol Webster Fluffbucket Shelley Caesar Harrison Ford Molly Abraham (turned out to be a girl. lol)
So, I had Brewster for 18 years. Yes, I was a Punky Brewster fan! Then he passed on and I had to have another one, so I went out two days later to the Humane Society looking for a girl cat because I was going to name her Oprah! Gosh knows why? I just liked the name at the time. When I got there I found the cutest little cat curled up under two other cats. I picked it up and it was a him. He was all white with an orange ringed tail a patch of orange on his tummy and a patch of orange on top of his head. I fell in love immediately and sat with him for the longest time trying to figure out how I was going to make an Oprah out of him. I decided on Opie and took him home with me. You know Opie Taylor on The Andy Griffith show did have red/orange hair!
Cat names I've had... Ezekiel Mischief Esther Gertrude Isabelle Claire Scout De Morgan (Mo) Lillith Sebastion Lucy Eli Gus Oscar Oliver Sparky Mini Mo Zelda These are all I can remember. I've had dozens more rescues come through my house, though I can't remember all their names.
Okay...I can't believe I just did this...I listed all the cats' names that I could think of, then realized...DUH....the big fuzzy orange thing currently demanding my attention was left off the list... My feline baby's name is Booger.
We have two cats... Mia (named for Mia Hamm) and Francoise (named for no one in particular). My daughters chose the names.
My friend named her sister cats after the girls from her favorite musical. Cosette (Les Miserables) Eponine (Les Mis)
Bam Bamm (I was five and a Flintstones' fan. He died when I was in college.) Smokey (He was my cat who ate corn on the cob.) Pinky although his official name was Pink Nose Boots Squeaky (Prissy was an option for this one. She was the first out of the box too. She had a stroke when she was 21.) Moe Larry B.B. Bert Ernie Bosco Bailey Simon (My late husband's 22 year old cat. He also called him Monster or Monsty. I call him Simonator.)
How about... -Boo Boo -Twinkle Toes -Katty -Moose -Lightning -Thunder -Money -Precious -Snobby -Sport -Misty? Good luck, Rebel1
Pisces, Frosty was like the family dog. When she wanted inside or out, she would meow at the door like a dog would bark if they want out. We didn't need a litter box, because she would let us know when she needed outside. She would never drink tap water out of a bowl, but would only drink it out of the toilet. We figured out that it was because the water in the toilet is colder. So, we started having to put ice cubes in her water. Anyways, one day I was out in the backyard playing ball with my sister. The ball went over the fence into the yard behind us. There was no one living in that house at the time. My sister was done playing and went inside the house. There was a fence board laying on the ground on the other property which allowed me to squeeze through to go get the ball. I wasn't paying attention and was running with the ball and stepped right on the board and it had two nails sticking up from it. I landed on those nails really hard and they went right through my shoe and shot up into my foot. So, here I am...9 or 10 and had this fence board attached to my foot and I couldn't move. I was too scared to rip my foot off the wood. Everyone was inside the house and no one around...I was crying. Here comes Frosty. She came up to me and checked out the situation. She IMMEDIATELY ran to the back door and started meowing like I had never heard her meow before. Of course, my sister opened the door to let her in...and that gave me the chance to yell to her to get me some help. Frosty was like Lassie...she saved the day. I know that my life really wasn't at stake that day...but to a little kid, I thought I was going to die!
Right now in the family we have: Boo-Boo Gidget Oliver and Pickles... We have had: Pepper Smokey Mittens Tigger What a great story about Frosty!

Awww; that is so neat! Smart cat! :thumb: I love the name OREO. So, what did you name your two kitties, Scooter?
Well, we haven't decided for sure yet, but these are the names in the running: Rocky (we are pretty set on this name for the gray one) Eclipse Montana Kenya I think there are two others, but I'm drawing a blank.
SeeAyTee (C A T)People will ask you what language it is  well my dog's name is DeeOhGee (D O G) and People will ask me what language it is
Test out the names. Try yelling them out and see how they work. I tend to like shorter one or two syllables names.
Just be careful they can't be changed into something less flattering. Booger's name evolved from Bogart. I must say though, he earns his name daily.
I named one of my cats "Scooter" because he was the first to scoot all over the place and away from his mama. And your "name" is Scooter.... He is a sweetheart, and still wanders around the property away from the house. My first cat was "Singyow". (She sang, or purred, and she yowled.) Lovely cat. I got her when I was in grade school, so she was a childhood friend.
When our children were small we had a code word, and that code word was pickles. So! when the cat came into the family everyone voted that his name be Pickles.....My YD got a cat that was the runt of the litter, so she named him Squirt....he now weights 18 pounds, and not an ounce of fat on him. He is a big guy.
