I have heard about libraries that offer ebooks for people to "check out." Does anyone do this? My library doesn't. I was wondering if there was a library that I could join in order to check out some books. Just curious!

You can't check out library books with a kindle. You can do it with some other ereaders though. It wasn't worth it to me-because I didn't have a library with digital books nearby, there is usually a long wait for those books, and I've found plenty of free books anyway.

My library offers the e-books, but you need a Nook to do it.

Kindle is coming out with an app early in 2011 that will let you do this and file share with other Kindlers. Until then, though, no ebooks :(
