I like to include fun websites with educational (at least mostly) games and activities for my students to do at home. I know we have had posts of our favorite educational sites and of our favorite teacher sites, but I am looking for kindergarten student sites that focus on math and reading skills.

    Some of my favorites:
Starfall.com - always a safe bet for early learning!
seussville.com - Dr. Suess website with games based on his books
funbrain.com - good database of games for all elementary level students on a variety of skills and themes

One of my illustrators recommended that I look at the teacherbookbag.net. I was very impressed.

I absolutely love this site! It gives websites and activities, broken down by subject (math, reading, science) and skill (adding to 5, CVC words, plant parts) http://www.internet4classrooms.com/month2month.htm

Another one that's more developmentally based, but does have some connections to reading and math is www dot poisson rouge dot com. (It comes up encoded if I just paste the site, so I had to spell it out). This site has a ton of educational activities for kids as well.

    Hope this helps! :)

I also include websites in my newsletter for my kinder. kids. This week I found BBC website. It rocks! YOu can pick primary or secondary. Under primary it is divided by age. Then you can choose science, math, etc. Everything is interactive and fun! My daughter, who is 8, loves it! I am guessing my younger kids will love the easier section too. Check it out :2up:

On this page click on science. THen scroll down to "KS2Bitesize". This is so much fun for the kids!
