Do your schools use a Kindergarten Readiness Assessment?

I am wondering what's available. My new P asked me for one and we have never done this before so I was wondering how it was handled at other schools.

My school uses one. I don't think it's anything published that they purchased. I think the kindergarten teachers just got together and created their own based on the standards and their instincts about what the kids need to know. I've only seen one very briefly, but I think it's mostly letter identification - both upper and lowercase, letter/sound relationships, counting, 1:1 correspondence, and number identification. They do a "screening" day where parents bring their incoming kindergarteners in, and one teacher sits down with one kid at a time to run through the assessment. They then use the information to create class lists.

DIBELS is a good standard one for free. AIMSweb is similar and manages data/reporting well too.

I hated DIBELS (no offense EdEd)! I never found the benefit of it. We made our own at my first school and I still use a modified version now. More formally we the PAT (Phonological Awareness Test). It covers a lot and provides a great picture of their progress over the year.

They always wanted us to focus on the make believe words and I just didn't find value in that for K. The PAT goes into much more detail (does have make-believe words, but aren't tested until later). The PAT tests:
    Rhyming
    Beginning, middle, and end sounds
    Deletion of sounds
Counting syllables in a word and words in a sentence
    Blending words
    Consonant and vowel sounds
    Vowel pairs, digraphs, etc.

How do you use the DIBELS EdEd?
