A kid in my class asks if I have kids... I say no.

She asks if I am married... I say no.

She asks if I have a pet.... I say no.

She says, "you sure must be lonely! It's miserable being single out there."

I highlighted my hair this weekend. On Monday none of my students noticed. Tuesday during a phonics lesson one of my brightest was staring at me with a look of wonder on his face. I asked him was something wrong. He made a circle with his hand around his face and said "Is there something different around here?" And I told him yes, I got my hair colored. Do you like it??? "Not really!" Teaches me not to ask.

I have a first grader with autism in my class. A couple months ago we had crazy hair day. I wasn't too sure if I wanted to participate, so when my students arrived I just had my hair in a ponytail. During announcements I decided to change my hair. I put my ponytail to the front of my head (right over my forehead). My student with autism just about fell over when he looked up and saw my hair. I told him that it was crazy hair day, so I needed crazy hair. Since that day about once a week he looks and me funny and then asks me if I have crazy hair :D.

Last year, I was a LTS and had an interview. The guy who subbed for me was gorgeous! As I was walking out the door, I heard..."Mr. A are you single?"

    Sub:"Why?"

Kid: "Because our teacher, Miss Buck8teacher, is single. She's Miss, not Ms period."

    What happen there??

Do not come to preschool with a band aid anywhere on your body! Every single child will ask you:

    "What happen there/here?"

They will keep asking you until the sore heals, and you have a scab or scar!!!

They will ask you, and you will tell them, and the kid right next to you will ask you again.

    What happens there??

Then they will reach out and try to touch it!

    Froggy, I love it.

On Thursday I went back to the school where I student taught for 15 weeks. I was dressed up for an interview with the P and it happens I was wearing black pants and jacket with a cream top. The k/1 kids saw me and said, "Wow! You're wearing your penguin clothes!" They're in the middle of the penguin unit. hahaha!

I was reading over my student's shoulder while he was taking our state test in science last week, and he had an "interesting" answer....I won't say what the question was since I'm pretty sure that's not allowed, but let's just say the answer SHOULD have mentioned something about the Earth's rotation, but his answer was "Because God needs a break." I just gritted my teeth and walked away.

These are all sooooo funny and cute.

To a question about the difference between plant and animal kingdoms, one student responded, "The plant kingdom is the Garden of Eden."

The same student this week told me that his backpack had a problem. It didn't know how to behave, laughed too much, and was really silly. Hmmmmm, sounds just like his problems. At the end of the day, he looked at it and pushed it over - just to teach it a lesson.
