We use a lot of music for dancing and developing gross motor skills. The problem is we are getting sick of the same old songs. We use Greg and Steve (body rock, the freeze dance etc) ...they love that and also we use some Dr. Jean.
Does anyone know or use anything different that's similar to music that will get them motivated, up and moving?

Jim Gill is one of my favorites... also Carole Peterson, if you can find her. My kids LOVE her stuff.

I'd second Jack Hartmann - particularly his Hip Hop Alphabop series - they are a little more contemporary sounding and my class LOVES them. :)

New Bridge for Learning has a whole set of CDs broken down into catagories (math concepts, gross motor, fine motor, community helpers etc) that the kids love. They are mostly songs that the kids have to listen to the words and do what it says--- they love it!

Hap Palmer has good stuff, too... although I typically use only a few ssongs from any particular CD, so I prefer to make mixes. I've done this with both Jim Gill and Hap Palmer... makes it easier than looking through all the CDs in the collection to find the one that has that particular song...

The Wiggles have a lot of fun songs that preschoolers like.
