So I'm certified to teach in Indiana and while it's not horrible here in terms of getting jobs it's not the best either. So I'm looking into Kentucky and Ohio...does anyone know districts hiring or ones to definetly avoid b/c there are freezes or w/e?

    Thanks

Good luck in Ohio! I am certified in PA and Ohio and Ohio is just as hard as PA. I am waiting to hear if I got a job in Ohio and it will be a MIRACLE if I did.

Ohio is a mess with all the levies right now. Due to the economy, the school levies in many districts are failing. I'm in Columbus and I know of two districts where they have laid off SEVERAL teachers.

The whole state of Ohio is saturated with teachers right now. Especially in central Ohio. There are too many teachers and not enough jobs available. I know this is the story everywhere though.

In Ohio you must go back to college to receive additional certification. In PA you can add additional certifications after passing the required praxis test.

PA seems much more difficult to find a job. I wish I knew why. It's a great state to teach in.

I hope I helped somewhat. I was actually thinking about looking for a job in your "neck of the woods" because it's so tough here.

    Good luck!!

Ok so Ohio's out...Indiana is not bad. I guess it's just that time where principals are gone and little is posted. I feel like I just can't sit here tho and wait around.
