I have soooo many "professional development" books - that I've either purchased myself or received as part of PD courses - that they literally fill up a bookcase! Should I keep them at home (which is actually where I do most of my planning) or take them to school, where they will be handy if I need them? My colleagues all think I have "too much stuff" in my classroom, but (former Girl Scout here) I always feel the need to "be prepared!"

I would keep them where I would use them most often, so I say keep them at home.

Definitely at home. I doubt you would have real time to sit at school, read and digest that information. If something comes up at school that you want to research more, then you can look it up at home later.

I keep some at home and some at school. The books that have reproducible materials are kept at school, while my other "professional reading" books stay with me at home.

I use to keep mine at home, but eventually took them to school. I do most of my planning on the weekends here at home, and grab what I think I'll need before I leave on Friday.

I like the idea of splitting them into "reproducibles" and non-reproducibles, and just taking the ones I might copy from to school. Thanks for all of the opinions!

I keep the majority of mine at school because I find I lend them out to people frequently!

At home. I do not have any time in the day to look at professional books at school. I just keep them in my closet.

I have some at home and some at school.

Most of the ones at home are my old preschool ones, that I don't use very much now that I'm in elementary (but don't want to get rid of just in case!)

My Daily 5/ CAFE are at school because I pull them out constantly.

Most of my others are at school - more space there than my apartment, and easier to lend out to coworkers.
BUT maybe now that I'll have a house with more room... I might bring them home...

I'd keep them wherever you do most of your planning.

I rarely have time to read at school "comfortably". So i would suggest that they are at home... I do some of my best reading on the royal throne.
