Who uses these? If so, which ones do you like the most? What grade/subject works best?

I did two different Kagan trainings over the years. The first was way back in the overhead projector days because a lot of the materials needed one to use. Later I did the one for the technical age. I even did a couple of trainings for our staff on using the strategies.

I didn’t really have any particular favorites. The structures all depended on what you were doing and the individual classes.

Like anything else, it was not the salvation of the education system, and it wasn’t really something I’d have used exclusively. However, they were nice to make an addition to a classroom.

I’ve used mix-pair-share and stand up, hand up, pair up a lot. I also use turn and talks super often.

Kagan strategies aren’t like some magical thing… they’re just procedures to get kids interacting with content and each other. Different strategies work for different kids, so try them and see what sticks. My class last year loved mix pair share, and I loved that it made me look good when district people came through and saw me using kagan strategies lol. But also I love that it gets kids talking about something useful and intentional.

Sorry for the late reply, but I decided to share my experience here.
I’ve been using the Kagan strategies for a while, especially the "Think-Pair-Share" and "Numbered Heads Together" techniques. They really engage my students. I also incorporate Quizlet to create engaging flashcards and quizzes (you can read about it here). The combination has really boosted student participation and understanding.
I hope this info will be useful for someone.
