As the title states, it was the same exact test. The only difference was that I was more confident this time, but I still managed to fail. I don't understand why. I am at least hoping that my score is higher than my previous one (196). Any ideas?
How do you know you failed if you are still waiting on your new score and you are hoping your new score is higher than your old one? I’m confused.
CSET English I and II are among the very few CSET subtests that are strictly multiple choice (English III and IV are strictly constructed response); they are entirely machine-scored, and if the version that Joseph112 took has been in existence long enough that the mapping from raw to scaled has been established, it's certainly possible that results would be posted at the end of the test session. I would have expected the non-passing scaled score to be posted, however.
Thank you for this! This is great to know for in the future. I wish my teacher certification results were more established when I took them so I knew what my scaled scores were.
No one who passes CSET is given scaled scores, ever: you have exactly the same information in hand about your scaled scores as does any taker of any CSET exam. That's CTC policy, to prevent CSET scores from being used in hiring decisions, and has been since the CSET program was announced almost 20 years ago.
Wow, you guys took this to a whole other level. The first time I took the CSET English subtest 1 was back in June 2017. On that test, I received a 196++. Yesterday, I took the same test (Subtest 1), and it was the exact same material with maybe less than 5 of the questions being different. Once I finished the exam, they handed me a printout with the following "Not Pass". Thus, I am hoping that my new score is at least higher than the previous one. Make sense? Also, Teachergroupie or anyone, I have some questions about the material I witnessed yesterday, I won't give out the questions verbatim , but I am just curious about their nature. So, please PM me.
Hi, i was wondering if you ever managed to pass this exam? I've been trying for years. often do get the same tests, but seem to blank out.
