Last year I had six different classes, and no prep, and it looks like it's going to be the same again this year.
I am going to be teaching two different math classes, 3 different science classes and an elective.

There were several time last year where I was almost at the point of giving up. I'm not sure if I can make it through another year of this.

Any advice for time management, to not get overwhelmed with what I'm doing.

Are you teaching some of the same classes so you can reuse most of last year's plans?

Good idea. Also ask the previous teachers of those classes if they have anything to pass on. That's just a ridiculous amount of work to be put on your plate.

No gonna lie, your thread title was confusing but I understand was a typo.

    Anywho…
Organization is going to be key. Have a system where you can keep each class separate. A file box with all of one classes stuff works wonders. Put all of your extra copies in there, your need be graded, etc etc. For tests and stuff, have a pre-made answer sheet you can just compare each test to (or use scantron if you have access to it).

Let the kids grade each other’s papers. That’s amazing as well. Or if you have the option of doing some things electronically do it. Anything you can reuse from last year/previous teachers, do it.

I’m not sure there is a typo. At least, I don’t see one?

Are you referring to the word preps?

“Just got my schedule for this year - 6 preps again”
Is the thread title. But then in the first sentence, they state: “Last year I had six different classes, and noprep, and it looks like it's going to be the same again this year.”

The title implies that they have six prep periods, rather than six periods with no preps. So when you’re like me and your brain is weird, you go “How many periods are there in a day for you to have six preps!?”

I've always seen "__ preps" in this forum used as "the number of distinct classes to plan for."

Aha see it must be a case of me being too literal. “6 preps” to me says “six individual prep periods”.
