Just hired as a 4th grade teacher.,i am so used to younger grades...can you tell me what your guided reading group lessons looks like? It's a big change for me. I'm used to teaching how to read not reading to learn. From start to finish can you give a general view of what it looks like? Do you use chapter books and break them down? How do you use literature circles? How often do you do close reading? Thanks!

This is a late response but I do not do guided reading groups! We have a reading curriculum that we use mostly whole group. We only have 50 minutes for reading time so there's not much time for literature circles or small groups. What kind of curriculum did your school give you? How have things been going so far (I assume you started)?
